Hello tarheels, I suppose you have two choices, aerosol or some kind of a sprayer like a conventional or HVLP. If I may ask, why does it need to be lacquer? ........Mike

It doesn't have to be lacquer, but it does have to be a high gloss finish over the black paint. It going to used as a bathroom cabinet with the sink installed in it.

What about a high gloss oil based enamel? That would give you the high sheen and durability.....Mike
