Have hardwood flooring on slab.

1. If the flooring is chisled away, how does one remove the glue to refloor and reglue. What is required to scrap(or dissolve) off the old glue.

2. What is glue crystallization. Heard that the new glue is different.

3. Does this crystallization occur if flooring is installed in winter time??

Thanks in advance
Sammy

Sammy:

The best solution I've found is the elbow grease method and a real flooring scraper. For more tips on floor prep and gluedown engineered floors try this link I put together last year. Lottsa pics too.

Hi

The lime in the cement causes petroleum based glue crystallization.
And moisture is the catalyst .It happens over a amount of years.
I would have a moisture test done on the slab..no mater what time of the year its installed.

Does this crystallization occur if flooring is installed in winter time?? no!!

Good luck
