Ran out of formica brand glue at 9:00 last night while installing my formica brand glue together laminate floor. Flooring shop was closed so i zipped to lowes and picked up a bottle of glue "for all brands of laminate floor", the salesman told me to leave the glue that squeezed out of the joints untill it dried which is what the formica glue bottle states, so i did the same with the " all purpose" glue not reading the bottle which states "do not let dry wipe off excess immediately. (DUH!) Well today the formica glue comes right off in ribbons but the all purpose glue is absolutely welded to my laminate floor surface! Any suggestions? anybody? My wife doesnt know about this yet and altough the furnace works it could get kinda cold in here! Thanks in advance

You have a problem that only luck can help. Without knowing what you have in the bottle we cannot know of a solvent. I suspect the glue that you used is a PVA-II type. Carefully scraping my help. Replaceing the planks will help. Solvents that you might try are water (hot is best) acetone, glycol ether, toluene, and xylene. Caution these solvents may be highly flammable or toxic or both. Read labels and warnings. Cleaning as you go is always best!!! Good Luck

Try a butter knife with no serrations.

WD40 is great at dissolving glues. However, could it do some damage to your floor. Dont know!!!!!
