I'm building an entry way to the front of the house and am looking for suggestions on what type of flooring.

I just want to make sure I am understanding you -- this is an exterior project, right?
First, how much height do you have to play with? From the threshold of the front door, out to where this porch or entryway will be, how far down is it to grade?
What do you want to use? Concrete? Maybe stamped / colored? Are you thinking maybe a wood or composite deck? Maybe brick pavers? Something else?
How about exposure -- Are you thinking about covering this? If you use a solid surface, like a concrete slab, is drainage an issue to be dealt with? How much or how little maintenance do you want?
If you can post pictures of the area involved on a website, like Anglefire or Yahoo, and give us the URL, that would help.

This is going to be completly enclosed. My idea was to build a concrete floor just below the house floor and then put something over the concrete.
I wasn't sure if that would be the way to go. I thought about doing a wood subfloor. But I'm not sure yet.
Sorry that I don't have a camera. The area is level and it is going to be 10x10.
I hope this explains what I'm doing.

If you are going to lay a concrete pad, then tile it.
DO NOT lay wood or a composite directly on the concrete. Either will draw moisture out of the concrete and you will have problems with rot, mold, mildew, ...
