When is the best time to put preservative on a new pressure treated SYP deck? Immediately? Wait a while? Any suggestions on brands. I've tried Thompson's water seal and found that it didn't bead water after 2 mo.. Also used Bahr that is linseed oil based - lasted two years.

Beading water isn't necessarily the best test. Some of the best deck stains don't bead water, and some of the worst do. If you've already found something that lasted two years, I'd just stick with what works.

FYI - Thompsons is a parafin product (like candle wax). It lasts 3 months, tops.
