I'd like to build a new deck on the front of the house. The existing one is in bad shape. It's about 6 ft off the ground (and sagging). Are there any plans out there for a 10X12 deck with stairs and landing that I can build by myself? My hubby doesn't think we need a new deck, but it looks very scary... :-)

Go to any lumber yard or home center that sells Simpson metal fastening products (the most popular that I know of). Simpson has free deck brochures with plans for simple, multi-level, and raised decks.
