had Dish sat. installed.
they had to return same day to change out rcvr.

two more trips out trying to get my local channels to work.

finally sent me a new rcvr via ups.
changed that out and did all the stuff you do.

worked two days.

called again and another visit today, we will see.....

anyway i had to box up the old rcvr and take it to a ups drop off.
so i went to mail boxes etc. and after handing it over, i asked how many of thease prepaid postage Dish rcvrs going back do they get.
she said about five a day.
asked how many Direct tv rcvrs do they get going back, and she was unable to give a number, just said nowhere near Dish's return rate.

i have had direct tv for many years and have found it to be almost flawless. i have relatives who have dish network and have no problems after many years of service. so go figure, i guess. but if i were having the problems you are having i would consider a change, after all what have you got to lose, unless you are in a no escape contract.

leewaytoo,
You simply had some bad luck. I install DishNet for my friend's store; he's been in business 33 yrs.
In the past six months I only know of one receiver going bad. One possibility is the installation(cabling) was done incorrectly, possibly shorting out the rcvr. Some of the retail stores that sell Dishes have unknowledgable installers - here today, gone tomo. DishNet will get you straightened out.

actually in this area the installers are employed by dish.
they have two crews of 50 working 4 ten hour days.

i just wish it would work for i have missed some important sporting events on the local channels.

so far its working.

they did cough up two free months for the hassel plus refund the previous two months of local channel charges.
