I inherited a 27" Sony Trinitron (Model KV2670R) that appears to be stuck in Sleep mode. When the unit powers on, the screen remains dark with no sound but the sleep mode light on the front of the set comes on and won't go off. I don't have the remote for it but got a universal remote to recognize the unit, but it will only turn the power on and off. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

try going to www.replacementremotes.com and maybe you can order the original remote and go from there. if you don't see your remote you can email them or fill out a form and try to match one up. hope this helps.

Red did you recieve the remote for your Sony? did it fix the problem? I thought I had the same problem but actually don't. The set wouldn't turn on but the red lights would blink back and forth from sleep and timer. I was able to jiggle the power switch until set eventaully turned on. After I turned it off I couldn't turn back on, it sounded like there was a relay chattering. I took the back of set off and saw relay ky601 trying to energize. I took a stick and manually made the contact. set worked fine, remore worked fine, but when I let go of relay back to blink switch between timer and sleep. When I unplug then plug back in, timer light doesn't immediately light bit slowly starts to light as if a cap (or something) is charging....i want to repair the set , anyone have suggestions?

I too am having the same problem. I do not have the original remote. Does the original remote fix this problem? How do I find out which remote is the original remote.

Thanks
