My outside walls are very cold to the touch. closets, pantrys are even worse. Is there a way to blow insulation into the wall without to much damage to the wall? Hardwood floors are also very cold around the edges of the house. house was built in the 50s.

thanks
Mike

I own a house built in the 50's - all brick exterior and I had my walls insulated about 5 years ago. The company who did it (here in the Detroit area) drilled 3/4" holes into the mortar between the brick and blew in cellulose. Afterwards they came back on a cold day and did an infra-red scan of the house exterior to see if they missed any areas. Also - the holes were plugged with fresh mortar and then etched with acid to make it look "weathered" - bottom line: the house is warmer, it's quieter from outside noise and you can't even tell where the holes were. I would recommend it - most definitely.
