View Full Version : Snaking wire in ceiling

I have two existing lights in my kitchen. I want to replace them with a ceiling fan in the center of the room. How do I snake the wire thru or around the studs in the celing? This is on the first floor so I can't do it anyother way.
Help and thanks

hello,
the easest way for crossing joists is to cut small pieces of the celling out at the joists and cut a knotch in them then run your wire and put on nail plates(piece of metal aprox 1/16" thick) over the knotches, and patch the holes. if the wire is to run parallel to the joists then just cut your new hole and fish between the new and old.
