I am currently in the process of building a new home. I have chosen to upgrade the telephone wiring to Category 5 (CAT 5). What equipment would I need to build a computer network with the CAT 5 wiring? What kind of equipment will be installed by the electrician for the telephone network?

You will need to either home run your cabling
to a location where you will be installing
your hub, and other network interface equipment (I'd get DSL or cable modem, and
a Linksys router/hub). I'd also run the telephone and network on separate cables.
