I am building my own house. I want to install recessed lighting at the end of my soffits. I baught a bunch of recessed light housings but the bar hangers are too long. They are the standard length that fit between 16" or 24" OC framing members. I need bar hangers that can adjust to about 11". Is there such a beast? I called around to a couple of box stores and an electrical supply store. I also searched some of the online hardware sights but they only have the 16-24 inch bar hangers. Any sugestions? Is there a way to make home made ones? Thanks in advance.

hello brad,
u could cut the hangers down and make them fit in the space u have, i have had to do this in a few instances.
