Once the tv is on for an hour or so, I hear a high piched buzzing noise If I turn the tv off for a bit and it cools down,the noise will go away and then start again. Help! I bought the tv in 1998. Is it worth repairing?

Sounds like the flyback is squealing. Typical sony problem.
Check the solder joints for any cracks on the flyback and surrounding area(s) on the circuit board.
