I have a 4 YO HK AVR-80 MkII receiver that has a somewhat strange problem. While in operation, it performs flawlessly. But, when I turn off the power switch, it switches back on within a minute. When it turns back on, it always is on the TV mode. After coming back on, it will turn on/off repeatedly until it is either unplugged or another option is selected (CD/Tuner/VCR1/VCR2/LD, etc). Should I just bring it in for repair somewhere? I'm fairly handy with electronics/audio equipment if shown what to do.

I checked several other models and all point to cracked solder joints. You will need to looked very closely at those circuit boards. If you find any resolder them.
