how can i get nails out of a terazzo floor witout pulling up a big chunk of the floor?

Hi
It's best just to cut them off flush. The little bit left in the floor will blend in with the rest of the stones in the terrazzo. You'll hardly notice them at all.:)

You might try "locking-on" with a Vise Grip pliers and twisting first. I've never tried it but anything is possible.
If they won't budge then break them off. Then slighty grind on them to get them flush with something like a Dremel Tool. Once flush they can be coated with fingernail polish to match whatever is there now (color wise) and to prevent future oxidation from cleaning with water.
