i have a porch that i added on to my trailer with rolled roofing. It is 12 ft x 12 ft . Can i put the insulation directly on the roof(inside) before i put the vapor barrier up , or must there be a air spce .

Insulation can be installed between ceiling rafters just like you do between wall studs. Insulation will help keep the summer heat out from under the porch.

Greetings,

Sounds like you are experiencing radiant heat from the roof.

FG in a porch ceiling will result in excess condensation and will be about useless against summer heat gain.

See if you can locate bubble radiant barrier material with foil one side and white plastic the othe side. If you don't mind a shiny surface you can get it foil both sides. If you can';t find, let me know.

Thank you for considering my opinion.
