I have a old 36' x 40' polebarn at my new house I need to take the steel siding of of it and put new siding on it.
My question is what is the best insulation to use.
Note: I plan on keeping it heated.

Go to www.doityourself.com/insulate on this website for an excellent tutorial on insulation. You will find the different types of insulation described and recommended applications. There is also a calculator for R-value for your ZIP.

Greetings,
Radiant barriers are excellent for pole barns.
Would recommend a double thick bubble foil, foil both sides for walls, over the purlins, siding over that. This is becoming more and more common on pole buildings because of the higher eff.
For the ceiling you can install a single 4 mil RB between the cords and then the bubble foil on bottom surface. It also comes in foil one side, white plastic other.
If you want to drywall then you can install the 4 mil wall and two 4 mil between the cords.
If you have trouble finding material, let me know.
Thank you for considering my opinion.
