We just moved into a 5 year old house with ceramic tile throughout a lot of it. Since moving in we have noticed a lot of nicks in the tile (not the grout). The nicks are not on the edge but in the middle part of the tile. Is there any way to repair these nicks as replacing tile in this house will be a costly job?
Thanks for any help you can give me. And also what is the best way to clean ceramic tile....just plain water with a little soap or a cleaning solution?

I know of no great way to repair the tiles, they aren't that hard to replace if your lucky enough to have found some extras left by previous occupants 'cause it's not likely you'll be able to match the existing tiles.
There is one trick that may work for you for a time. Fingernail polish.
You can match almost any tile color now days and it can be fairly durable for a while.:)
Fingernail polish won't actually repair the tile but it will mask an unsightly chip.
Sorry!
