I have been advised that my power vented furnace should not share a vent with a my natural vented hot water heater under any circumstances. This is coming from a certified HVAC tech but it is contrary to everything I have read so far as well as most installations that I have seen. Any ideas here?
Thanks

with an induced draft furnace an water heater tied together are a common sight, and allowed according to the venting tables in the installation instructions. unless you have an unusual situation, get a new hvac tech.
