I have a Mitsubishi CK-3527R, 35 inch tube TV. Mfg date 9/1991.
Recently when turning on the tv I only get a single line raster horizontally accros the middle of the screen.
If I 'bump' the tv slightly, only slightly the screen will flicker and return to full screen.
Sometimes this only needs to be done once, sometimes a couple of times, and sometimes not at all (tv works okay).
I have removed the back and looked all around inside and do not see anything loose.
I suspect the vertical deflection circuit or worse a filiament or gun in the tube.
Any ideas?

Sounds like cracked solder joints on the vertical output Ic or in and around the vertical circuit.
