Intending to have a brick patio approximately 14' x 32'. Is it acceptable to pour a concrete pad and install pavers on the pad? Several shows I've seen on television typically install the pavers over crushed stone and or a sand base. The hot tub we intend to set requires a concrete pad as a base anyway, so some concrete will be required. I figured why not pour the entire area and cover with pavers. Opinions, suggestions?

sorrelmb,
It might be more practical to do your concrete throughout but instead of the added expense for brickpavers, why not consider "Concrete Stamping" , you can get the look, color and patterns and pay less!
Hope this helps!

Doug,
Thanks for the reply. I had suggested just that to the contractor. He tells me stamped concrete is *more* expensive than the pavers!!

sorrelmb,
I would have to agree to that statement but "Concrete and then placing Brickpavers over it" is much more money!
I am suggesting concrete stamping which decreases your cost overall, based upon what you were proposing in your initial post.
Just a thought to help you save $$$$
