I have a Counter Flow Vented Gas Space Heater that has been working properly for 30 years. The thermocouple was replaced about 3 years ago and the heater is properly maintained. The problem I am now having is when I light the pilot (it remains lit) the the burner lights up (when it calls for heat) but when the burner shuts off, so does the pilot light.

Can you observe what happens when the burner shuts off? Does it seem like the shutdown is blowing the pilot out or does it just extinguish? What does the pilot flame look like? Nice and blue? Does it cover the about 3/8" to 1/2" of the END of the thermocouple? Is the pilot flame being pulled towards the main burner when the main burner is firing? Is the pilot burner clean? Let us know what you see/find.
