What, if any, are some tips for stone 3x3 mesh mounted (12x12 squares) installation on the ceiling of my new shower stall. The surface area is ~16 square feet ad will be placed diagonally to the wall 12x12 stone pieces. I've already placed the backer board securely to the half inch plywood underlayment (or overlayment in this case since it is upside down). Any helpful ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.:)

Hi
You'll be surprised how well the thin set will hold the tile up there....the surface area creates quite a lot of suction..so they tend to stay where you put them. Just make sure you have good contact, since it will only take one corner without thin set to drag the rest of the sheet with it. Also, the tile that you cut should be dry..if you try to put them up there wet, they will come down. So if you can cut the peices ahead of time, that will help a lot.:)

Start with ceiling first, then do back wall. For helpful tips on surface prep, layout, installation, cutting & trimming, and grout for tub and shower enclosures, you can find info on this website at www.doityourself.com/ceramic.
