Ji,
I own a 2 story home in mass wich has a oil fired steam boiler to heat. The boiler must be 20yrs old,and is maintained yearly.
Can I do anything other than draining the rusty water out of the system to keep it in tip top shape?I have a great furnace man.
He cleans it before winter annually.
Any thoughts.:p

Unless you know how to service the oil burner itself, your doing all you can...

There are a whole range of boiler water treatments which you could consider. Some people believe they help and some don't. If your boiler got to the 40 year mark, you can probably do without it, but you asked for suggestions, and it's all I could think of.
