I have a granite counter top with 1 " granite trim. The trim pieces have started falling off and I want to put them back on. The edge pieces have a tile mud or similiar material on the back of the pieces. I have been told by the local Home Depot store, to buy a grinding bit and attach it to my drill and grind the tile mud off of the back of the tiles. Do I have any other options to remove the tile mud. ??

Hi
A sander with some coarse paper will take it off in no time. Wear glasses and a dust mask..thin set if full of silica sand.
