How do you determine if a wall is weight bearing??? I want to remove a wall between my living room and a bedroom to make a huge open living area.

It is best to have an experienced builder or architect evaluate the situation before removing or altering walls. Failure to do so may result in cracked plaster, sagging floors, warped door and window openings, or even the collapse of the home. If you don't have a copy of the original floor plan, cutting of small holes in the ceiling may be required to determine how the home is framed.
