I have a gas furnace question. The burner kicks on for about a minute and then the blower runs for about 2/3 minutes. At this point, it shuts off and then within a minute starts over again. It seems like it is running to frequently?

Hello jascarpu. Welcome to my Gas Appliances topic & the Do-It-Yourself Web Site.

The problem description is rather common. There can be any number of possibilities for the problem. Far more than I could possibly enter here in one posting reply.

I suggest you read the already asked questions in this forum and those within the heating & cooling forum pertaining to heaters and furnaces. Doing so will provide you with all the problem possibilities and all the possible solutions.

A common cause is a dirty flame sensor. Cleaning it may resolve the problem. If the furnace has a power exhaust vent, a problem within that system may also cause the problem.

Additional Suggestions:
Read the manufacturers web site for problem possibilities, solving methods, part locations, disassembly, reassembly, repair procedures, instructions, pictorials, schematics, all or part of which may be available online.

Be sure the electrical power to the appliance is turned off, the thermostat is turned down and the gas control valve is in the off postion before attempting any repairs.

Retail parts dealers and heating part supplers can also help determine what the possible problem may be. Bring the make, model and serial numbers. Dealers are an excellent source for original replacement parts and are listed in the phone book.
