Was wondering if I should be using PT framing for the entire job. I am in the process of renovating the ground floor of my house (No basement - concrete slab on sand) It's a cement block house that needs new walls, windows, etc. -the works. During the renovation I did find MANY boards that had been eaten away by termites (Looks like it was years ago). I will definitely use PT sole plates but should I be using PT for everything. Thanks in advance.

Beyond the bottom plates being PT, I think you are just throwing away money. You would be better off spending the money on termite flashing, and proper details for exterior siding. Maybe a good plan with Orkin (No affiliation) or other pest control company wouldn't hurt.

Termite flashing??? Don't know what that is. I'll hunt around the forum in the meantime. The exterior is stucco and the house is surrounded by a concrete walkway on sand. No real dirt anywhere in this area if that matters.

Termite flashing is essentially light guage steel bent at an obtuse (just over 90). This should be installed behind the siding material..being that you have stucco it might be a little harder.

But anyway... if there is no current damage from termites I would spend the money on preventative maintenance - such as stated earlier.
