I have a 45 year old home I just moved into, and want to change the tub. Only problem is that the drain is on one side and the faucet is on the other??
Could there be any reason why it is like that??
Was it just an error or could there actually be some plumbing that has to be redone...
Any help is appreciated...:D

Eyedr,
It is unusual but since you want to replace the tub, it will be a good time to alter the plumbing if feasible.
I would suspect that changing the drain lines may be the best choice in the conversion than the water lines.
Assess the situation once the tub is removed, it is probably best to place the drain on the faucet side since there may be an access panel there due to the age of home. This will make the final installation of the drain pipes much easier.
Hope this helps and Merry Xmas!
