hello.... i am looking to replace some of my old windows in my house. the have the weighted sash inside the frame. i am looking at buying replacement windows. when i install these do i have to remove all of the existing frame of the old windows. will i have to build a new frame for the windows, and should i insulate in the place where the sash weights are now. thanks for your help

It all depends on how large of windows you want to install. We have done them both ways. Sometimes we retrofit windows into the existing frame and leave the chases for the sash weights alone. Other times we remove the frames and the weight chases, and install windows sized to the larger opening. Either way, it's not that tough of a job. The header and sill are sized to allow for the weight chases, so no reframing is involved.
