Discovered major rot in several exterior window sills. Need info on sill replacement.

Are these wooden sill part of a wooden window? If so, I would suggest that you replace the entire window and eliminate the sills. A vinyl will retrofit in nicely and eliminate all of the maintanence you now have with the wood windows, and will significantly reduce you energy bills.

lefty has best idea, but in lieu of replacing the window, you can cut and chisel out the sill, make a sill out of pressure-treated wood to match, install, caulk, prime and paint. Good Luck!
