Hello all.
I need help with my 10 year-old, tilt-in, non-brand-name, vinyl windows! The problem is that they have begun to slide down too easily. They are not drafty. My only fear is that they will take off my children's fingers. I had the installer fix a couple of them, but he charged me $35/window. He said it had something to do with window balance I think... Anyway, I would prefer fixing this on my own. any help would be greatly appreciated.

What type of balancers do these windows have? If they are a spiral balancer, you will need a special tool to adjust the tension.
