i
cut down a steel door w/ abrasive blade. the trouble is that i cut it to short. i can piece it easily i believe,by screwing the bottom section (wood filled) to the main section. the question is i leaning towards using an automotive body fill to close any gaps. once the pieces are joined,i believe i can use an angle grinder and sander to smooth the surface. what do you think?

Home Depot sells a bottom U shaped expander with rubber weatherstripping at the bottom. This will add 1" to 1 1/2" to the height of the door and hide the sharp the edges.
