Hello;

I installed an interior french door in a deep wall and need to install 2 3/8" extension jambs. What is the best way to attach these to the existing jamb. I have found trim screws, but longest is 2 1/2"?

Thanks
Anthony

Dowels, biscuits, or inset the holes for the screws about 2 inches and drop a wooden plug behind them.

chfite is right. Any of those will do. I like the biscuits myself. If you don't have a biscuit jointer, have your girlfreind buy you one for the holidays. You will get alot of use out of one. If this is not possible, you can shim under the old jambs leaving the shim extended out and then nail the new jamb to the shim (use alot of glue, too)
