I have two 5 foot walls that meet at a right angle that I want to remove. I have removed the drywall and there is a double 2x4 at the top and a 4x4 above the doorway. It is a single story home and in the attic space there are supports coming down from the roof rafters and nailed above the wall. It does not look like a substantial load bearing wall (and I think I saw in another posting that double 2x4s are not structural) but it seems to be supporting some load from the roof so will the double 2x4s need extra support when the studs come down and a support post where the walls meet?

As a general rule, load bearing walls are the exterior walls on houses with engineered trusses and on houses with site-built trusses unless there are some load bearing walls elsewhere otherwise. Generally, load bearing walls run perpendicularly to the ceiling joists. I am not sure that there are degrees of load bearing. It seems that walls either carry a load or not.
If you plan to remove a load bearing wall it will have to be replaced with a beam and supports for the beam. A beam would be something on the order of laminated 2x10s with plywood layer in between. My guess is that if you cannot tell which walls are load bearing and which one are not, then you probably should not remove them.
