Good evening all from a newbee...
Our Problem: 10 (appox.) year old Maytag dryer runs fine, but refuses to heat. No orange glow, no smell of gas, just runs and runs. Last year about this time, we replaced what I beleive were the solenoids because the "element" would come on and glow for a few minutes and then stop to make a clicking noise. That fixed that problem quickly.
I have read the other dryer problem posts and I just want to reconfirm that perhaps I should take in the glow ignitor to be inspected, or am Igoing down the wrong path?
Thanks again:(

Yes. Replace the glow ignitor as a first attempt to correct the problem. Most likely doing so will correct the problem.
Read the other questions pertaining to dyers that do not heat to read the repair procedures needed and other information posted.
DRYER SERVICE TIP & REMINDER:
It's always adviseable to clean the entire exhaust venting system every 2 years and or during any dryer maintenance, service and or repairs.

Dear Tom,
I followed you suggestion and took my "ignitor" into our local Maytag parts store. Sure enough, it was a broken ignitor element.
$40 and a hour and a half later, we're up and running.
Thanks again Tom,
John
