Searched for quite a while and can't seem to find tips on technique for 'antiqueing' painted cabinets. Painted cabinets an antique white (oil-based) and bought tinted oil-based glaze (cross between charcoal and brown). I tried brushing on glaze and wiping off, but glaze seemed to dry really fast and it was very difficult to get an even look while leaving more glaze in cracks etc.
Do I need to thin glaze? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Nick

Hello nbjmiller, from my experience glazes are thinned between 2:1 and 5:1. This subject is so deep and the methods so varied that I will point you to a few links and if you would check them out and get back with any detailed questions we would be gald to advise. First check http://www.fauxlikeapro.com/ This site requires a Flash program but has a link if you don't have it. Download with confidence or at least I had good luck with it. Click on "Interactive Learning" and then "Click here to start learning", under "Aging" -click "Antiquing".

Thanks for the reply. Already been to those sites after a search on this one. Not exactly what I need, so looks like I need to just jump in...it's just paint, right?
