Solid Hardwood, Engineered and Laminate Flooring - hardwood floor separation

I had a brazilian cherry hardwood floor installed in the summer, and now some of the boards are separating from one another creating spaces between the boards.

Does anyone know why this is happening, and what I can do about it?

It sounds like the cause was high moisture content at the time of the installation. The heating months generally cause gapping and the severity depends on a number of factors including; lack of attention to acclimation of material, material moisture content, and conditions before, during, and after the installation. Humidifiers work and hopefully the other guys can help on that one 'cause we don't have the need for them here in the Sunshine state. For best results with hardwood floors it's suggested to keep the relative humdity within the area semi constant at 40-55%

Thanks guys! I determined the separation was following the joist underneath it. I'm sure it's caused from the house settling.
