dnauls,

This issue has been answered numerous times and if you look at some recent posts you'll find that this is not a DIY job nor is it lasting. It's called "Buyer Beware". Do a search on previous postings for feedback.

Hope this helps!

Dnauls: If you do it yourself, you have NO warranty. I recently asked the same question on this forum, and it seems it just doesn't stand up under constant water exposure and cleaning/scrubbung. I found a company that offers it with a 3 year warranty. However, they could supply no references from people who have had it for over 3 years!!!??? The moderator on this forum also warned me of 1 little scratch in tub will eventually peel on the entire thing.

moonshade,

Thanks for emphazing my earlier posting. The issue of tub refinishing and the like have not been all that great over time and the money spent is not worth the hassle. It helps when others provide information on the "fix-it-up" projects that in some cases are "If it sounds too good to be true...it isn't worth it".

Thanks for letting dnauls know the truth.

The only way to really do it would be to take the tub to a antique restoration shop. But unless the tub is really special it will be much "cheaper" to simply replace it with a new tub.
