I have an old Kitchen Chef gas stove with electronic ignition and an analog clock.

For the last week, the clock hasn't been keeping time and is making a grinding noise. It sounds like the clock motor is dying.

Any suggestions?

Hello: brewhill

If the clock does not control any functions or you can operate the appliance without the need for the clock, it can be disconnected.

Turn off the electrical power or unplug the appliance first. Remove the glass front panel and remove the clock.

Be sure the unattached electrical wires to the clock do not and cannot come into contact with anything else in the enclosure behind the glass front panel.

If you need the clock for appliance operation or any selections it makes, etc. a replacement will be required. An excellent source for original replacement parts is your local retail appliance parts store. Appliance parts dealers carry replacement parts for all appliances. Parts dealers are listed in the phone book under appliances.
