Hello --

I have a bath design question. We are renovating our bathroom in our 1880s victorian (fairly small space). We are removing the bathtub and replacing it with only a shower. The available space for the shower is 36 in wide(door to wall), by a max of 60 in(ish) long (current size of tub). How big does a shower need to be to fit 2 people comfortably? Also -- what water pressure issues are there to installing 2 shower heads and controls?
Thanks

I wouldn't go any smaller than what you have but this is fine for 2 people and possibly a small 14" bench seat on one end.

Issue is the dual shower controls. I like to see 3'6" wide shower that is about 4'6" - 5' deep and depending on placement of the door. This may get a little tight and placement of the dual shower controls will have to be determined by the plumber.

The plumber will address the issue of sizing the piping accordingly to what you have now wtihin the home. In addition, depending on the BRAND of shower faucet controls will GREATLY effect the performance that you expect from this installation. Ask you plumber for advice before purchasing any controls. This has been an issue which seems to be arising more and more.

You may want to post this question in the plumbing forum.

Hope this helps!
