I want to paint the inside of my fireplace and I do not know what type of paint can with stand the heat of the fireplace. Any suggestions.

You DO NOT want to paint the inside of your fireplace if you are going to burn wood in it.

It's called high temperature paint and it's meant to be used inside fire places and on barbecue grills. It doesn't burn off (at least not very easily) and is intended for these purposes. You can get it at Home Depot or Lowe's or places like that.

Yep, Scrapulous hit the nail on the head. It's perfect for things like that. BUT, if this is a used fireplace, you will have a heck of a time painting it. Not just the painting, but the prep work. You will have to have the inside of the fireplace cleaned, etched, and make sure it's really dry before painting. Not something I would want to try. But...
