I have a Trane TRO36C100AO that I went to put a digital thermostat onto. This didn't work and I contacted Honeywell and they told me I had the wrong one. I decided to go ahead and put the mechanical one back in, but it will still not work. I have power to the outdoor unit, and also have power to the indoor unit, but cannot get ANY thermostat to work. I have checked the BUSS inside the air handler and it apears to be good. What else should I be checking? I do have power to the thermostat and the wiring is correct per the instalation instructions however it will still not work. Idea's on where to go next?

Re-check your wiring at the thermostat. You may have broken a wire or miswired. You may have blown the control transformer or it's fuse. Check for 24v at thermostat.

So what would be the best way to test out the transformer? I have checked the Buss fuse and it apears to be in good order. Thanks!

determine if proper high voltage is present. then if so, check to see if 24 volts is coming out. if not transformer is bad. there may be a blade fuse on a circuit board.
