I needed help on crown molding and through this forum, other web-sites, and good ol' trial and error I think I'm ready to start real cuts........except for one thing:

I'm having trouble getting the saw blade to cut right on my measurement mark. Sometimes I cut too much and sometimes too little.

Is there a rule of thumb on where to line up the mark on the table surface? Someone please help!

Thanks in advance. Trip

As with any saw cut, the blade kerf goes on the outside side of the measurement mark to leave the full measurement. The inside edge of the kerf goes flush to the mark.
As the old saying goes, measure twice and cut once.
Good luck!
