I had a problem around the bottom of my shower where some tiles were coming loose. Upon removing the loose tiles I found that the wall board (some type I have never seen before is very wet.

I then took off all the loose tiles and any where the wall board was damage. Since I knew it would be almost impossible to match the tile color I ended up taking off the bottom 4 rows of the shower wall tiles.

Now I am ready to re-install the tiles. I have repaired the walls and used cement boards (Wonder Board)... after getting everything ready I noticed the floor tiles were not going to match up along the bottom of the new tiles.

I knew I had a mortar shower bed ( I think that is what it's called) but if I put the tiles up on the wall there will be up to a half inch of the mortar showing at the bottom. It seemed the mortar was piled up quite a bit around the edge but everything is flush with the walls at the top of my repair.

I am going to have to redo the floor also? Any help would be much appreciated.

I looked a bit closer and realized that the issue is that the new cove tiles for the bottom of the wall were not EXACTLY the same as the old.

I was smart enough to save as many as I could but will have to locate a local source for the few that were chipped in the removal process.

Thanks for your prompt reply. This is a great site and you guys do a great job. Until now I have always found my questions and answers posted by someone else.

Thanks again.
