I had heard that professional installers spread wood putty over the entire floor and then sand again. If this is true, what kind of putty is it, and do you put it on after the last sanding?

It is not a putty but a filler that we use .It is the fine dust from the edger that we mix with Whoa don't want to give that away. well anyway you can get a mix from most of the better hardwood flooring dealers and kens site will show you how to use it....
