View Full Version : Magnavox 2" vertical line

I do not have the set yet, but the problem is a 2” vertical line down the middle of the screen. The sound is good. The set is a 46” Magnavox RL8530 chassis, the set is about 12 years old. I know it’s difficult to speculate, but my first thought would be horizontal output transistor or IC, yoke, and then HOT. I am thinking that the HV is okay because of the vertical deflection.
Is there any history of horizontal problems with this chassis?

Sounds like the horizontal sweep is off freq. and your seeing the blanking bar. Anyway you can email a pix of that problem?
