I've got a Samsung PLK405W LCD rear-projection TV that just started shutting off... rather the lamp is shutting off...

the interval is semi-random, and does not seem to have a pattern, but it's getting to be less than 5 minutes now after 1 day of looking for a pattern.

while watching, the lamp goes out without warning, the green light on front blinks about 19 or 20 times, then the lamp comes back on for a indeterminate period..

Is this the symptoms of a lamp failing? The Tv is 2 years old, and it got extensive use in it's first year after we had a baby (long nights, TV was just left on all night) so it's possible we're near the 6000 hour rating of the lamp...

If that's the case, do you know where I can purchase a new lamp, and how much they run?

Thanks,

Gary

You can order a lamp from them, price can vary considerably.
Anywhere from $100 to $900 depending on the set.
Yes these are expensive little light bulbs !!!
