I have a cultured marble double sink in my bathroom that has become scratched as time has passed. The scratches are all surface in type and could be considered hairline scratches as they have almost no depth to them. However, some of the scratching was done in areas due to a recent home reno and the concentration of these surface scratches makes them fairly obvious under some types of lighting. Does anyone have an idea as to what I can do to make these scratches less obvious (ie. Polishing, buffing, certain compound applications)?

doubledoo,
You're right, that is one of the problems with Marble. Marble is softer than granite, so it scratches easier. Fortunately, scratches can be buffed or polished out. Marble also can fracture along veins and is vulnerable to stains.
Try these links out, haven't heard any feedback on the use of them but I would opt for a professional to come in and do it. The results can be amazing and they have the tools. By the time you buy product and rent equipment, if needed, you already invested money and that doesn't include the time to do it.
