shadow ups,
Anything is possible with electronics, but it could be as simple as a solder joint at the power supply or somewhere else. Heat build-up is the number one electronics killer.

shadow ups,
I'm not an electronics technician, just alot of personal experience(repairs) with cbs, tvs, sat receivers, etc.
I suppose when it shuts down you could check the power supply voltage, in and out. The problem could be inside the ps.
Be careful back there!
